Combine unusual chairs found in the most unusual places, my desire to create an unusual piece of art, and you have a one-of-a-kind, like no other, conversation piece for your home or office.
RE-USE | RE-CYCLE | CREATE
These like-new, red leather contemporary-style chairs were discovered in a second-hand shoppe in Asheville, NC. The unique design called for a more simpler, contemporary look when painting. The patterns embellish the backgrounds with minimal distraction, allowing the women's faces and square hole cut-outs to stand out.

These two chairs are some of my favorites. The simple schoolhouse chair is adorned with the well-known Mexican painter from the early 1900's, Frida Kahlo.
The Picasso chair was a simple 70's style dining chair transformed into a piece of colorful art depicting his famous "Seated Woman Portrait",1937.

VOTE Chair
This 50's recycled metal and canvas chair was created in 2024 to encourage women to vote during the presidential election. It was on display in the Fuller Art House in Sylvania, Ohio.
The woman depicts no one in particular, just an average young woman concerned about being able to make her own choices with her body, and more important, the right to be heard.

Picasso's "Girl Before a Mirror" was the perfect painting for this whimsical hall tree I found at a sale.
